Spring Trends 2011

Trends: Part deux!

What is the most versatile and durable fabric of all time?  Denim of course!!

Who doesn’t love Denim? Seriously? This is definitely THE most wearable trend ever! 2010 was a big year for denim but 2011 will be even bigger. There are so many ways to wear it: you can dress it up, dress it down or use it to accessorize  —-the possibilities are literally endless. Everyone has a favorite pair of jeans that fit just right, but this trend is about more then just dressing up your favorite pair of dungarees. Here are a few of my favorite looks to try out:

  • Denim trousers—The high-waist, wide leg trouser is an iconic fashion piece. Find it in denim and it gets that much better! Look classy and give the illusion of longer legs with these pants, pair them with some pumps or sandals and you’re good to go!
  • Mixing Denim—mixing denim pieces can be pretty chic if you know how to do it. Try pairing together a light denim chambray shirt with dark skinny jeans. Experiment with different washes to get your desired look.
  • White Denim—white denim and summer go hand and hand. Nothing quite says summer like crisp white denim and a loose fitting tank!

Don’t limit yourself; try your favorite pieces in denim (blazers, dresses, shorts, vest, and jackets). Need more inspiration? Check out what designer Derek Lam showcased for his spring 2011 line.
