We all know that women comes in all different shapes and sizes. Everyone is different and so is your skin. Applying make-up can do so many things for your look like making your eyes seem bigger, or plumping your lips, but no amount of make-up will hide skin that hasn’t been taken care of. There are four basic skin care steps that we all need to take in order to have healthy, resilient skin no matter what type of skin you have:
2. Exfoliate. This is the part most people forget in their skin care routine. A good scrub that gets rid of dead skin cells once a week can keep you looking young and exuberant and will give you have a beautiful fresh canvas to apply your make-up on.
3. Moisturize. This is one of the basic laws of beauty. It doesn’t matter if you have oily skin or not, your skin will benefit from a good moisturizer. This is another thing that you will have to experiment with to see what works with your skin type, and it doesn’t have to be too expensive either. Brands like Neutrogena and Olay have moisturizers that won’t break the bank.
4. Apply Sunscreen. The final, but probably most important step in your skin care regimen. Sun damage makes your skin age faster, and could even create more serious problems like skin cancer. You need to protect your skin with SPF everyday, even when you don’t think the sun is strong, it is still coming through the clouds and can harm your skin. Often you can find SPF in a moisturizer or other cream so you don’t have the distinct smell of sunscreen like you’re at the beach all the time.
If you make it a point to keep your skin in great shape and stick closely to your skin care routine you’ll have so many more options when it comes to applying make-up. It’s not hard to keep your skin in top condition, just try a few things and experiment a little to find the products that are right for you and have healthy, beautiful skin.
