Summer May Be Over, But Skincare Isn’t

Happy Autumn everyone!  Since today is the official first day of Fall, it’s time to start packing away those adorable bikinis you wore all summer.  Say goodbye to the beach umbrellas, and the big floppy sun hats, and the SPF too, right? WRONG!  Just because it’s not summertime anymore and you won’t be soaking up the sun next to the ocean doesn’t mean that you stop using SPF.

There are still harmful rays from the sun beating down on you everytime you step outside.  Not protecting your skin puts you at risk for early signs of aging, and even worse, skin cancer.  Luckily, there are easy ways to protect your skin during these Autumn months without breaking out the Coppertone and smelling like a toddler running around by the pool.  Just yesterday, MAC launched their Matchmaster Foundation with SPF 15 for the Fall 2011 line.  There’s a wide variety of shades, so you can definitely match your skin tone, and it doesn’t smell like sunblock.  It’s a creamy, smooth liquid foundation that gives you an even skin-tone, and protects your beautiful skin all day.

If you don’t want to get your SPF protection in a makeup, you can find in a variety of creams and lotions as well that you can find at your local drugstore.  Brands like Eucerin and Aveeno have lotions that have SPF in the 50’s and higher if you’ve got really delicate skin.  You can even find lip balms like Burt’s Bees that have SPF to protect your precious pout.  There’s no reason to go out with your skin unprotected with all these amazing products, so take care of your skin this season and don’t leave home with out the SPF!
