Look Beautiful, Feel Beautiful, and Stay Healthy Even in the Colder Months

Staying in shape and exercising is not only an important part of looking good and feeling beautiful, it’s vital to your health.  You’ve heard that a million times before, and from a million different people droning about the benefits of staying active, but the complaint from many women is they simply cannot find the time in their day to dedicate to working out, especially when you are feeling less motivated as the colder months approach.  For many working women, their daily workout comes from running in their impossibly high heels to catch their train to work.  The key to fitting a workout into your busy schedule is making it something fun that you will look forward to throughout the day, and even incorporating the people around you in your workout.

For those of us who have little ones and might even be trying to work off the baby weight still have their very own tiny personal trainer living with them.  When the baby starts to walk, or better yet starts to run they are going to be a big motivation for you to get up and start running right after them.  An easy way to get active is by simply taking your child to the park, trust me you will be chasing after them in no time, and it is a great way to share some bonding time.

For those of us who won’t be chasing around a toddler anytime soon, and aren’t interested in leaving the house, or just have a serious gym-phobia there are a ton of things you can do right in your own home that will have you in shape, and keep your heart healthy.  If you have a Wii you can invest in games like Wii Fit or Zumba Fitness, which are a lot of fun and can be played with a number of people.  Wii Fit tracks your progress and does all the monotonous stuff for you, so all you have to do is stand up and start playing.  Not into spending that much money on a video game?  There are tons of workout tapes that you can rent, or are even sometimes available for free on your TV depending on your provider.  They range from serious intense workouts like P90X to a lot more calming, serene workouts like yoga.

If you are the type that has always wanted to join a gym, but never got around to it, now should be the time!  Gym memberships offer a lot of fun exercise classes for you to try.  You won’t be spending long, boring hours on a treadmill anymore.  Many gyms offer classes like hot yoga which will seriously have you sweating, Zumba which is a fun Latin-inspired dance workout, or Cardio kickboxing to get your heart pumping.

Working out does not have to be a monotonous thing that looms over your head like a dark, angry cloud.  There’s no reason why you can’t be in the best shape of your life, feeling good, and looking as beautiful as ever right now.  And I promise you, you will be happy you stayed active over the winter months so when the ice finally melts and you start thinking about cute, new bikinis, you don’t look as if you still have all the holiday treats you ate hanging around your waist.
